Stone leads to the creation of new objects with an original design

There are few materials like stone: it can be shaped, but it retains its properties. Maybe that’s why designers always include it in high-profile interior design projects. Santamargherita works with a number of designers and architects with the aim of finding new ways of using this material.

Thanks to the sense of initiative and creativity of designers, Santamargherita marble agglomerates are shaped into original and interesting forms. That is possible because Santamargherita materials have technical properties that are perfectly suitable for industrial design projects. Indeed, Santamargherita surfaces are versatile and technically advanced, and the material is strong enough to be processed whilst retaining all its beauty. Moreover, the surfaces are resistant to bending, scratching and acids. When the beauty and strength of SM surfaces meet the imagination and genius of designers, this produces remarkable results.

How do designers start cooperating with Santamargherita? We usually develop projects with designers already working with existing customers, while other contacts are established by attending trade fairs. Others come from the internet and they contact the company via email. These are generally the ones who come with an idea they want to create with Santamargherita materials. Over the years, the company has set up a wealth of partnerships that allowed us to present interesting projects to our target market, where the materials take centre stage.

One of the latest partnerships was the one presented at Marmomacc 2018: Ciottolo. The original project made with SM Marble – Verde Alpi was displayed as part of the Brand & Stone exhibition. In this case, the project stemmed from the partnership with Imperfettolab, a company based in the Emilia Romagna region that creates seating solutions, tables, furnishing accessories and designer objects. SM Marble – Verde Alpi is not the only agglomerate that won over Marmomacc visitors. One of Santamargherita’s most popular materials used by designers is SM Marble-Palladio Moro. The bold and yet elegant colour contrast catches the imagination and is a source of inspiration for new creations. At Marmomac 2017 we presented “Easy”: the project stemmed from Raffaello Galiotto and Vicentina Marmi’s collaboration with Santamargherita, EasySTONE, Donatoni Macchine, Diamut and Agape, with SM Marble-Palladio Moro elegantly enveloping bathroom furnishing accessories.

SM Marble-Palladio Moro was also used for another project, once again developed by Vincentina Marmi, this time with Victor Gingembre. This led to the creation of SM Marble Palladio Moro seating solutions with a sinuous and elegant design.
